A poll: What type of tutorial works best for you?
I am making a very important decision on the future direction of 60 Lessons. I am not sure whether I should continue to write the step by step tutorials, or to create video tutorials instead.
Please vote in the following poll to help me find the best solution for the most 60 Lessons users. Thank you!

Dawn,
I use both types, but I just LOVE your written tutorials. I teach high school graphic design, and try to accompany my video lessons with a written component, as I noticed students have different learning styles.
I wish you much success, and hope you don’t stop producing these invaluable lessons!
Regards,
Barbara Fine
Thanks so much for the feedback, Barbara!
Dawn,
I am teaching Digital Design at a public high school (for the first time) and I am hungry for help with Photoshop CS4. Your tutorials thus far have been excellent. Have you considered writing a classroom text/manual/reference? Based on what I have seen so far I would definitely buy it. I like the idea of both versions of presentation to accommodate different student needs. I would love to see something with reproducable handouts with basic things like keyboard shortcuts and mini-lessons on what each tool does. Keep up the good work! I am looking forward to your next installment.
Thanks,
Kelli Dornfeld
I have indeed considered that. Long-range plan. Handouts and mini lessons are a great idea.
As much as I like videos because of my imaginary ADHD, when I’m trying to learn something like Photoshop, I need to be able to go at my own pace. Read a bit, play with the software a bit. Go back, re-read something from 2 pages ago. A video just doesn’t do that very well.
I agree with other comments folks have left, but specifically about learning styles and pacing. I teach HS Art and Photography where we use Photoshop in creative digitally developed work, and to support PowerPoint presentations and in image/photo preparation for InDesign. I really appreciateyour tutorials and in your sharing.
Thanks,
Michele
Dawn,
THANKS so much for the great work that you have shared with us … it all has been wonderful. I would buy anything that you produce! I like all the ideas presented so far, but echo that the written work with visuals are great. I also like the ideas of handouts. Do you have that type of info. for graphic design info., like color theory, typography, principles and elements of design…etc.? That would be welcomed too.
Another idea – it would be great to connect with some of these other Digital Arts teachers that are making comments. Teachers are so good at borrowing and sharing ideas – all info. helps us.
You are awesome! Keep up the good work.
Jan
Hi Dawn,
I have leaned a great deal from your online written Dreamweaver tutorials to date, but I have a preference for video tutorials. I suppose providing the video tutorial with the option of downloading or printing the PDF would benifit a wider audience. Best of luck with what ever you decide and keep up the good work.
Siobhan
I just want to agree with the others saying that I too would buy any book you would come out with. Your tutorials are great.
